The message that I have always dreaded to write, finally must be written. I am retiring MathManEU and Sunday, October 19th 2025, will be my last stream. 

Now that has been said, I can't take it back anymore. So I can take my time and answer "Why?". I started MathManEU in March 2021, when I had just started with my PhD. We had just moved to Belgium, and I was very much still a student. Since my graduation almost a year ago now, my workload has expanded month over month.

I have gained more responsibilities, more teaching and supervising. This has resulted that since June I have had to cancel on average 25% of my streams. That is neither fun nor fair to you, as a viewer, and to me, as a streamer. The busy work schedule plus YouTube, TikTok, and two Twitch channels has become too much. This has culminated in long bouts of illness, stress-induced stomach infection, and honestly: Hitting almost every checkbox on the Burnout Hit List. So I simply can't continue like this, which is why I am putting the channel in hibernation.

But then... What's next? - Over the past 6 months I have been having more and more fun helping people on Content Delta and that channel has grown quickly on TikTok and YouTube as well. I intend to continue to do so, and will increase the stream to three times a week at least. I want to thank you all for the many laughs, the support, and the games that we played over the past 4.5 years. It has been incredibly humbling and empowering to see so many of you come out every single stream to die to ghosts, to shout at killers chasing me down, and to listen to all the dad jokes. I genuinely am so grateful for the role this community has played as I celebrated all the ups and slogged through all the downs in my life. 

This weekend we will be celebrating the community one last time and I really hope to see you there.
